Sculpture on Hong Kong Sea 2009 was officially launched on 15 May 2009 starting with the Open Call, inviting any interested artist to submit his/her entry by 15 July 2009. After which a selection was done, by a panel consisting of Oscar Ho Hing-Kay, Lukas Tam Wai Ping and John Batten, under the responsibility of the Artistic Director.
As a result the 16 participating artists to the 1st edition 2009 of Sculpture on Hong Kong Sea were :
